Most hardwood floor refinishing companies want to tell you this, but there are cases where you don’t need a full hardwood floor refinishing. If your hardwood floors have light surface blemishes and scratches, our screen and recoat service may be the best option for your floors, especially if your floors have lost their sheen and are no longer appealing like they once were. Basically, in some cases, your wood floor’s condition wouldn’t justify a full refinishing, and all it will need is the same touch-up by gentle sanding and a new coat of finish.

Our screen and recoat process is for light, surface-level scratches on your hardwood floors where the layer of polyurethane is wearing down and helps to refresh the surface from imperfections by adding a new protective layer. This process prevents deeper damage, such as wear-through or the need for complete refinishing, ultimately saving time and money in the short and long run.

Our screen and recoat service does not remove scratches that have gone down into the wood.

The recoating process provides 2 additional protective layers using a commercial-grade polyurethane. This can last anywhere from 3 to 5 years depending on lifestyle and floor traffic. The extra wear layers also make the floor look better with a heavenly sheen. Our refinishers come in satin (the most commonly chosen), semi-gloss, high gloss, and matte.

DUSTLESS Hardwood floor Screen & Recoat: What is that?

Say goodbye to the usual dust, mess, and odors associated with hardwood refinishing. We offer a hassle-free solution to restore your wood floors to their original shine. If your floor has minor wear and light scratches, resurfacing might be the perfect alternative to complete refinishing.

The best candidates for resurfacing are floors showing some wear, but with a mostly intact finish and no bare wood visible. Minimal separation or warping between boards is acceptable, and the majority of the floor should be in good condition. By using a buffer to abrade the existing finish and applying a fresh coat before the finish is completely worn down, you can reduce the need for a full re-sanding. Enjoy a renewed floor without the fuss!

ONE-DAY Hardwood Floor Refinishing

The DUSTLESS Screen & Recoat process is the best-kept secret in the hardwood flooring world, but it shouldn’t be because it can save you money, labor, and time over the life of your hardwood floor (more convenience).
